It all started about a week ago when i met this guy locally who was on the forums (Blue) . I was considering selling my car as is and he wanted to have a look. I got there and we chatted for a minute about Minis. I showed him the supercharger i just bought and shortly afterward he left. He was telling me he had a trans for sale he was supposed to sell to a dude in Houston, from Ohio. He was upset bc apparently the guy never called him back. As he left, my roomate said he looked shady as fuck.
A few days later, the guy in Houston (Red) sends me an IM via Facebook, asking if Blue was a cool dude. I said yes, at the time; he seemed like an alright dude, maybe he just had a long day when he came over. A few days after that, the Red guy tells me the Blue guy that came over took his money for the transmission and deleted his facebook account and left him high and dry. At that point i call the Blue guy with the trans to see whats up. He apparently has no recollection of what happened or even speaking to him. So i told the Red guy what he told me; apparently Red is a DPS agent, and can find him rather easily, as he works specifically with fraud cases.
At this point the Blue guy keeps calling my phone asking if ive heard from him and such. Eventually Red takes this to the forums by dedicating a long post about Blue; others chime in too about how they've been ripped off by Blue. Apparently he has been using different alises on facebook for whatever reason, youre going to LOVE the reason why, stay tuned...
Anyway the people online do some digging, and found Blues real name, and as you'd imagine, someone did a background check. Turns out Blue is a repeat sex offender and has been charged with sex with a minor, and has just got out of prison for fraud. Blue kept using fake names because he is not supposed to be using computers, and social networking apparently. He called me back and told me this, right afterward, verifying the information. He reiterated that he "wasnt a bad guy." At this point i really wanted to be left out of this.
Red Guy calls me back, and now the moderators from the forum are contacting me now, because the Red Guy put his # on the thread and apparently had everyone calling him constantly. The thread was averaging 200+ comments AN HOUR. Blue calls me again from a different number, tells more random stuff about his life, i listened because i would like to think of myself as a compassionate guy, right?
I didnt have any beef with the Blue guy until i was shown screenshots of pictures of a convo Blue had with a guy in Cleveland, saying he was about to "buy a car off some idiot", that idiot apparently was me. Blue told the guy he offered me $5k for my car, in reality he showed up thinking i was gonna sell him my full car for $800, which wasnt happening. Then i saw that Blue was sending pics of MY CAR and parts for sale on his behalf, asking people if they wanted to pay him for shit that was still on my car.
As this was happening, Red was able to contact his parole officer, and now all of a sudden, Blue's fake name facebook page reappears. Then Blue posts, saying he is ready to pay everyone back that he screwed over. Blue was torn apart via internet. He was true to his word though, and paid the guy for the transmission back. He sent me an apology message too, but i never replied.
TLDR: There was a guy who tried to rip off several people, picked the wrong one, got caught, and fixed his situation

The guy told the other guy that the one guy from houston had a guy that knew a guy and that that guy called the 2nd guy... And am I the only one that hopes all these people are Guy Fieri, Guy Ritchie and Guy Pearce? Oh, and maybe some random guy just for good measure. Just do the Reservoir Dogs thing and name them colors if you dont want real names.
